Suggested applications
Fluid Transfer, as in chemical, paint, adhesive and wastewater applications.
Viscous, abrasive, or flammable liquids like paints, polymers, acids, solvents, slurries and powder/liquid mixes.
The ability to handle challenging fluids and "deadhead" (or stall) without damage makes these pumps ideal for dosing, mixing, filter press feed, and general fluid transfer.

Sanitary-First Engineering & Material Purity
Passivated 316 Stainless Steel Surface Finish
All wetted metal components undergo a strict passivation process to remove free iron from the surface. This enhances the natural corrosion resistance of the 316SS and ensures that no metallic contaminants ever enter the process stream, maintaining the organoleptic properties of your product.
Lube-Free Air Valve Technology
Yamada FDA pumps feature a 100% non-lubricated main air valve. This is a critical requirement for food and pharmaceutical cleanrooms, as it prevents oil mist from exhausting into the environment and eliminates the possibility of lubricant migrating into the fluid chambers during diaphragm failure.
Rugged, Bolted Construction for CIP/SIP
Designed to withstand the rigors of frequent Clean-In-Place (CIP) and Strip-In-Place (SIP) cycles, Yamada's bolted design provides a consistent, high-pressure seal across all mating surfaces. Unlike clamp-band pumps that often leak after thermal expansion or reassembly, the bolted construction ensures a sanitary, leak-free seal every time.
Gentle, Shear-Sensitive Handling
The diaphragm pumping action provides a low-shear transfer method, making these pumps ideal for delicate products such as fruit fillings with particulates, yogurt, creams, and pharmaceutical gels that would otherwise be damaged by centrifugal or gear pumps.
The Core Technology: Yamada C-Spool Air Valve
The heart of the Yamada FDA series is the patented C-Spool air valve. By utilizing a completely non-lubricated main valve and independent pilot mechanisms, Yamada ensures stall-free operation and the longest mean-time-between-failure (MTBF) in the industry.
Operational Logic: The C-Spool Cycle
- Compressed air enters the pump and is directed to one chamber via the main air valve.
- The air forces the diaphragm outward, discharging the liquid through the discharge ball valve.
- Simultaneously, the opposite diaphragm is pulled inward, creating suction to prime the chamber.
- At the end of the stroke, the center disk contacts the pilot valve, triggering a pressure shift.
- The C-Spool shifts the air flow to the opposite side, repeating the cycle without the need for manual resets or lubrication.
